This week we have been celebrating our Red Bus Champions. Every room at every setting has a champion for five different areas of Early Years Practice. These groups meet regularly to provide support for our children, families and staff. Each day we have been celebrating them, explaining what they do, and how our children benefit from their hard work!
We believe that children flourish best when their personal, social and emotional needs are met and when they know how they and others are expected to behave.
We actively promote the Fundamental British Values and encourage positive caring and polite behaviour. We also provide an environment where children learn to respect themselves, other people and their surroundings.
Children gain respect through interaction with caring adults who act as good role models, show them respect and value their individual personalities.
Outdoor play is essential for all aspects of a child’s development. It provides children with experiences which enable them to develop intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
In doing so it provides a rich context for the development of their acquisition of language and encourages positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle.
It is an integral part of our Early Years provision and our stimulating environment; providing resources and activities that cover all 7 areas of learning and development across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Cultural Capital is the essential knowledge that children need to prepare them for their future success. It is about giving children the best start to their early education.
Some children arrive at an early years setting with different experiences from others in their learning and play. At Red Bus Nursery & Pre-School we have our own curriculum, influenced by the EYFS curriculum, and the main learning opportunities come from interactions with practitioners. It is our role to help the children experience the awe and wonder of the world in which they live.
At Red Bus we are committed to the inclusion of all children. All children have the right to be cared for and educated, to develop to their full potential alongside their peers through positive experiences, to enable them to share opportunities and experiences and develop and learn from each other.
We provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs, and we work hard to ensure no children are discriminated against or put at a disadvantage as a consequence of their needs.
Technology can play an important role in supporting early language, by creating new opportunities for interaction and engagement.
Apps and the internet can give practitioners the opportunity to enhance and reinforce children’s knowledge and understanding. We help children to gain an effective understanding of when they might be at risk, including when using the internet, digital technology and social media and where to get support if they need it.
Supporting children in acquiring basic technology skills in the early years will support them to ensure that they are ready for their future life!
All our champions had the chance to go out for an extra-long lunch break, with food covered by Red Bus! It's a little gesture of appreciation for how hard they work supporting the rest of the team to provide outstanding childcare.
