We are so proud to announce that after an inspection at the end of May, Red Bus Downend have maintained their Outstanding rating from Ofsted in every category!
We had two inspectors on the day, who described being blown away by our ambitious, child centered and effective curriculum and praised us for maintaining such high standards of care and education in what they acknowledged to be a very challenging climate.
There has been lots of research and observations on young children post COVID, relating particularly to language and communication development. And the inspectors noted "There is outstanding support for developing children’s communication and language skills. Staff provide a language-rich environment, and place emphasis on ensuring that all children hear and develop a rich vocabulary."
We introduced our Red Bus Champions - a member of staff in each room, responsible for a particular area of our provision such as Cultural Capital or Behaviour Management. Their hard work is clearly reflected, as the report notes "Children demonstrate exemplary behaviour. They show excellent understanding of nursery rules and boundaries.“
We would like to thank our incredibly hard working and passionate team who are such an integral part of what we do, as well as the overwhelming number of parents who either spoke to the inspectors on the day or wrote in words of support praising Red Bus, it truly solidified that feeling of working in partnership to see your kind words.
We decided to celebrate our grading in a way that truly represents Red Bus - child led, creative, messy and a lot of fun!
