Nursery
This week in Nursery we spent a brilliant rainy morning out in the rooftop garden! We wrapped up in our waterproofs and wellington boots to see what we could explore. Unsurprisingly we got stuck into water play, creating ripples and splashes on the surface!
We also explored some Lunar New Year themed activities this week! As it is the Year of the Snake we learned lots about the animal, enjoying repeating the 'hisssss' noise they make! We also explored a noode filled tuff tray, where we explored twirling the noodles in our fingers and scooping them into bowls!
We have also developed our knowledge of this term's Core Book, We're Going on a Bear Hunt! We particularly enjoy the puppets that go along with the story, waving at the bear!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been learning all about Lunar New Year! We talked about how some families celebrate the occasion, and shared our own stories of celebrations at home.
We learned that it is the Year of the Snake, and explored a tuff tray full of rice and pasta! We scooped up the mixture and explored the textures in our hands.
We also tried making our own firework painting! We used cardboard inners, snipped at the edge to create an interesting pattern. We used them as stamps, dipping them into paint and then all over our paper!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we were very excited as Chloe had bought in her microscope for us to explore! She explained we had to be very careful as it was so delicate, but we took turns to look down it at different objects in the tray!
We have also been busy celebrating Lunar New Year! Leona has shared with us lots of ways we can celebrate, from creating swirling spiral snakes to celebrate the Year of the Snake to creating Peach Blossom Trees from lego!
