This Week at Coombe Dingle

Nursery

This week Nursery we got busy exploring a yoghurt painting activity! The adults helped us put our aprons on, and we started exploring the activity with our hands. The yoghurt was a bit chilly! We moved our hands back and forth through the mixture and even got some on our feet and toes too!

We also been enjoyed exploring our new technology area, especially the keyboards. We noticed it would make a clicking noise whenever we pressed a button! Our adults pointed out the different letters we could see, highlighting the initials of our names. We tapped the same keys ourselves!

We've had some lovely sunny sessions in the garden this week too. We liked using the stepping stones, using our imaginations in play. Some of us pretended to be travelling in a train - choo choo! Whilst some of us sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" with the adults!

Kindergarten

This week in Kindergarten we have been exploring the theme of 'superheroes'. Inspired by our Core Book series, we have been talking lots about what makes us a hero - it's not just a cape! We decorated some super-masks out in the garden, using our paint dabbers.

We also spent time in the library this week! We particularly enjoyed the illuminated tablets, using dry wipe markers to experiment with different shapes and patterns. We also helped to clean them up afterwards!

We also participated in a spot of fishing in our Water World! We used nets, trying really hard to catch the ducks and sea creatures. Once we had finished playing we listened to the book 'Octopants' and noticed when the characters were similar to the story!

Pre-School

This week we have started some planting! We listened to what we had to do to be able to plant our seeds into the pot. We showed some great listening as we copied the instructions and potted our own sunflower. It’s the start of the growing cycle, but it soon will grow to be a beautiful sunflower!

We also went to the top garden, we used the microscopes to look at tiny things we could find in the garden. Chloe brought in her microscopes from home for us to use. We took our buckets to collect things and then looked at it under the toy microscope first and then Chloe showed you the microscope - very carefully!

Down in the dining room we got our hairnets and washed our hands ready to make yummy scrummy healthy pitta pizzas! We chopped up the peppers and grated our own cheese, we squirted on the tomato puree and spread it over the pitta - then decorated with our own toppings!
