Nursery
This week in Nursery we explored a snowy sensory tray full of snow, toy animals and mirrored pebbles! We used our hands to pick up flurries of the snow and move it around, and looked at our reflections in the mirrored surfaces!
We've also spent time reading some of our festive books - we really love 'Thats Not My Snowman', exploring each page and it's different textures. We also recognised the snowman's carrot nose and pointed to our own!
In the Art Studio we have been making beautiful artwork with the Christmas stamps. We enjoyed the repeated process of lifting the stamp and pressing it onto paper, moving the pattern all over the page!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we explored a winter tuff tray! We used our hands to feel the textures of the squishy foam and rice, and particularly enjoyed covering our hands in the foam! We said 'wash wash wash' as we moved the foam all up our arms!
In the Water World area we also explored a 'Christmas Punch' tray! We took time to find all the different ingredients and placing them into different pans and pots. We discovered orange slices and cinnamon sticks, picking them up to give them a smell - mmm!
We also took a wintery trip to Sea Mills Rec! We walked all the way through Sea Mills, getting very excited when we saw a big bus - wow! Once we got to the field we had lots of fun running around and chasing after footballs, as well as searching for some sticks and twigs!
Pre-School
This week Pre-School we made some very special snowmen! Anouska began by measuring out string that is as long as us - we compared the different lengths, noticing that some were longer and some were shorter! We then wrapped the string round and round a lollipop stick, and topped it with a hat to make a snowman!
We also created some beautiful glittery artwork! We used rock salt, sprinkling it over glue. Once it had dried we had a go at painting it, watching how the colours mix and blend together!
We also used our observation skills on an Elf Hunt! Cheeky Elvis had hidden photos of himself all over Pre-School, we set to work searching high and low and getting very excited when we found one!
