This Week at Coombe Dingle

Nursery

This week in Nursery we started to explore a new and exciting way to paint! We used the lollipop sticks to direct the frozen paint across our paper. We watched as the colours started blending and mixing together!

To celebrate St Patrick's Day, some of us joined in with decorating a four leaf clovers! We used gluing and sticking techniques to stick our mixed resources down.

In the garden we used our fishing skills to fish the alphabet crabs from the tuff tray! We listened to our adults as they sang "A,B,C!"

Kindergarten

This week in Kindergarten we enjoyed making shamrock painting! We had lots of fun decorating them with sparkly glitter.

We also made our own smoothies this week! We prepared the fruit and helped to add it to the blender. We found the blender a bit noisy and enjoyed drinking their smoothie creation!

We've also enjoyed being outside in the sunshine! We've been playing catch with the adults and hitting the balls with the rackets. We've been seeing how tall a tower we can make as well as giving the flower beds a good water!

Pre-School

This week Pre-School we've been reading our Core Book 'The Smeds and the Smoos' and decided to make a rocket! Towards the end of the story we asked for brushes so we could decorate it, and we spoke about how the rocket has three windows.

We also read the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and we talked about the life cycle of a butterfly! We also learned a song with funny action that told us the four stages from a caterpillar to a butterfly. We also took part in a fruit tasting activity, trying out the food the caterpillar had eaten too!

For Global Recycling Day we spoke about about the different materials that we can recycle. From aluminium to cardboard even food waste can be recycled! We spoke about the importance of recycling and making sure plastic doesn't end up in our seas which can endanger the animals that live there. We then went out to look at RedB us recycling system - we have loads of different bins all for the different material, we got a chance to look at them and even had your own items to the bins.
