Nursery
This week Nursery have been ever so busy! We have been exploring gluing and sticking to create our very own planets for Earth Day. We showed great patience and cooperation taking turns to pick up the paper pieces as we went.
We've also been planting up for the summer! We filled up our pots with soil using scoops, spades and our hands. We then added sunflower seeds - we can't wait to watch them grow!
We've also been having a splashing good time with some Water Play! We sang the song 'Five Little Ducks' and tried to catch all the ducks with our hands. We then lined them up on the side of the water tray!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been doing some singing! We picked toys from the song sack to inspire us. We recognised that the egg means we sing Humpty Dumpty and the farm animals means we sing Old Macdonald!
In the art studio we made dinosaur pictures, using the feet to make lots of footprints. We were able to name the colours we wanted to use, and then tried mixing the colours together to cover the paper!
We've also been developing our coordination and balance in the garden. We navigated the balance beams and jumped high and far across the tyres!
Pre-School
This week Pre-School we have been exploring animal footprints! We looked at the different toy animals we had, and used them to make footprints with paint. We observed that some animals had two feet, and some had four. Some were big feet with claws, and some were much smaller!
We also celebrated St George's Day, learning about the story of George and the Dragon. We then built our own castle using coloured blocks! We also made our own flags, using brightly coloured pens to draw across the paper. We then used the small world figures to reenact the story!
We've also been exploring our new Core Book, the Three Billy Goats Gruff! The goats in the story try to cross a bridge, so we tried building one from blocks. We had lots of great conversations before hand about how to build a strong bridge, and what we could add to make it strong enough to handle the animals crossing!
