This Week at Coombe Dingle

Nursery

This week Nursery we have been exploring our technology resources! We have been observing how the phones change colour, and understand that we hold them up to our ears to have a conversation! We used our imaginations to speak to our mummies and daddies at home.

The wet and rainy weather never stops us babies! We have been out in the garden in our wet suits and wellies, jumping and splashing about in the puddles and playing football!

Back inside we have been exploring playdough! The adults introduced sea shells to our play, and we used them to imprint different marks and shapes into the dough.

Kindergarten

This week in Kindergarten the children have had lots of fun exploring in the garden! They led each other in a game of Hide and Seek, and enjoying practicing counting up to ten.

They have also been exploring one of our Core Books this term, "Dinosaurs love Underpants"! They had fun putting the pants onto the dinosaurs, and this also led to conversations about why we wear pants and potty training.

Kindergarten also had lots of fun gluing and sticking! They used lots of sparkles and particularly enjoyed feeling the different textures.

Pre-School

This week in Pre-School we've been busy making butterflies!
We've been talking about symmetry, and a butterfly is a perfectm example of this! We started off my cutting around a butterfly shape. We cut out our butterfly all by ourselves! We then used some cotton wool balls to stamp a patten on one half of our butterfly. We placed our mirror down the middle of our butterfly and we looked into both sides, and we talked about how different both sides of the mirror looks!

We when we fold our butterfly our pattern should look the same on the other side...so we opened them up to see our symmetry! Beautiful butterflies Pre-School!

We talked about the leaves we may see this Autumn on the floor, which have fallen from the trees. We then used lots of different leaves which had fallen from the trees in our garden to print into the paint and onto the paper. We did some great printing and could see the shapes and lines of the leaves on our paper. We used lots of Autumnal colours to print onto our paper.

We also had lots of sensory fun this week. We filled trays with lots and lots of shaving foam. We then chose to add colour paint to our tray -
we enjoyed the feeling of squeezing the foam between our fingers. We then pushed our cars through the foam and gave it a wash in the tray. We then used a straw to swirl the paint around the foam and make patterns!
