Nursery
This week Nursery have been celebrating Bonfire Night with some amazing fireworks masterpieces! We used forks as our tools, dipping them into paint and pressing them across the paper for sparkly firework!
We've also been exploring our mirror stones! We noticed these were a great shape for stacking, carefully balancing one on top of the other - and having lots of fun pushing them over!
We've also wrapped up warm for some outdoor play in the rooftop garden! We've explored the mud kitchen, recognising the real life resources such as the kettle and sharing our imaginative play with the adults - milk and sugar?
Kindergarten
We made some sparkly firework paintings! We really enjoyed using the blue and green paint the most. We also liked watching as an adult sprinkled some glitter into the paint . We then used a cut up toilet roll to dab the paint onto our paper to mimic the shape of fireworks!
To celebrate Bonfire Night, we made our very own sparklers! We spoke about Guy Fawkes, which means there are lot of bonfires and fireworks. After looking at a photo of a sparkler we made our own. We carefully dipped our breadsticks into the melted chocolate and then added our own sprinkles. Yummy!
We made some playdough together and used our shape cutters to create different shapes! We talked about the different shapes we could see and how many sides they have!
Pre-School
Oh stick man oh stick man beware of the dog! This week we read our Core Book in the top garden, we then created our very own big stickman and then went on to create our own. Using sticks and leaves we positioned the sticks in the positions we wanted and even broke some sticks to help fit what we wanted.
We took part in a little science experiment, we learnt about the clouds and rain how when the cloud is full of moisture it will then release it. We had a pipette which we used to transfer the liquid into the jug which was filled with water and a layer of shaving foam. We then watched the blue liquid seep through the shaving foam into the water.
We have been making our very own fireworks pictures. We spoke about the fireworks that we saw on the weekend. We had various different tools to be able to create our pictures, such as cotton buds and wool, string and straws.
