Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been going for gold in an Olympics themed activity! We recreated the 100m and 200m sprint with paint all over our feet - the adults would shout "3, 2, 1, GO!" and we ran up and down the paper! Some of us weren't sure about the feel of paint on our feet at first but once we had tried it we wanted to go again!
We have also been very helpful in cleaning up the toy babies with our adults! We gave them a lovely warm, bubbly bath and scrubbed them clean with the cloths. Afterwards, we wrapped them up in towels and gave them a cuddle!
We also got stuck into a sensory tray, full of toy dinosaurs trapped in jelly - oh no! Some of us used spoons to dig the dinos out whilst some preferred to get stuck in with our hands. We enjoyed smelling the scent of the jelly too, telling the adults it was "orange".
We've also been celebrating the Balloon Fiesta this weekend! The adults gave us a paper plate and lots of different rollers, sponges, and paintbrushes to get creative with. Once we had decorated them, we attached a paper basket to the bottom so that the balloon was complete!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been celebrating the Olympics with an obstacle course! We navigated the balance beams and tyres with some support from the adults, helping us develop our balance and coordination!
Back inside in the Art Studio we have been painting collaboratively! We shared large pieces of paper with our friends and worked together to cover it all with lovely bright colours. Once it's finished, all the pieces will go together to make a big hot air balloon - wow!
For Time Together we explored musical instruments! We worked out how each one makes noise, and experimented with loud and soft noises and shaking them slower and quicker!
Pre-School
This week Pre-School we spoke about the Bristol Balloon Fiesta! We talked about hot balloons, how they are made and how they manage to fly in the sky! Jigs showed us some pictures of different hot air balloons and some of the different shaped ones. We then had the opportunity to create our own hot air balloon
We also read the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'! We used the puppets alongside the story, joining in with all the phrases throughout the book. Once we finished our book we had some pictures of either bowls, chairs or books we took turns to put them in size order!
We caught some fish in the pond! We started our time together talking about what creatures live in the sea, then we took turns to catch fish with a rod. We cast the fishing line into the pond, the line
kept swinging so we tried hard to control it and bring it closer to our target. When we felt a bite, we pulled the line out. We then looked at the illustrations and discovered what kind of fish we had caught!
