Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been busy with lots of Valentines themed crafts! The adults had made the Art Sutdio look so lovely ready for us to explore. We spent time making pictures for our loved ones. We used heart stencils, and red and white paints, enjoying mixing the colours together!
We also helped Ashleigh, Chelsea and Abi with some cooking! We were great helpers, mixing the ingredients together and following instructions. We even helped to roll out the shortbread dough and out the heart shapes - yum!
We also got stuck into some sensory play! We made love potions, filling and emptying the containers. We also explored gloop, getting stuck straight in using our hands to feel the texture! Lastly we enjoyed a Valentines rice tray, filling the hearts up with rice.
Kindergarten
This week Kindergarten we have been celebrating Valentine's Day with lots of fun craft activities. We made some lovely cards for our families to tell them we love them and mixed shaving foam and paint to make some pretty pink hearts!
The Valentine's activities continued in the tuff tray where the children experimented with making love potions - we mixed and poured our ingredients and had so much fun! We enjoyed a sensory tray of coloured pink and red rice and we sprinkled lots of sequins onto the
tray to decorate a love heart.
Outside we enjoyed exploring the water wall - it was so fascinating to watch the water make its way through the pipes and we tested our strength by pumping the water ourselves! Our other outdoor activities included a fun car washing activity where we used so much bubbly water so make our cars spick and span. Back inside we've been enjoying a fun coloured peg game which helped us with our colour identification and fine motor skills, and of course we had to stack them and make towers too!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we took part in some mindfulness, exploring yoga in the sensory room! We found a Spring themed session and did a great job of stretching and balancing, copying the moves.
In the book corner we found a book all about different countries of the world! This inspired lots of great discussion about which ones we recognised, where we had visited, and where we live now.
We've been focusing a lot on mathematics this week! In Time Together we took part in a sorting activity, arranging the different teddy bears by colour and then counting them up.
Our role play area transformed into a Hospital, so we took on the roles of doctor and patient - even looking after some of our staff, working out how we can make them feel better!
We've also been celebrating Valentines Day with a lovely activity in the tuff tray!
