Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been making footprints with paint! We giggled as Ashleigh tickled our feet with the brush, then we walked across the paper.
Outside in the garden we opened up a doggy spa, washing our toy dogs using water and soap! We also enjoyed building sandcastles by filling and emptying buckets.
We learned about out teeth this week using the toothbrushes to clean our model teeth. We also used the mirrors to look at our own teeth!
We also had fun at the park this week as we took a trip to Oldbury Court with Chelsea, Kerri and Ekta!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have spent a lot of time enjoying all of our outdoor resources! We explored the big sandpit and made sandcastles and went digging for treasure. This supports our physical development by strengthening our gross motor skills when we dig dig dig into the sand! We also played in preschools big painted houses and sold ice cream to our peers as roared as loud as we could. We loved the climbing steps, which we climbed up and then did a big jump at the end, with the support of an adult.
Inside, we loved our ocean themed tuff tray, it included deep blue water and dyed rice, which resembled an island in the middle of the sea. In the water we found stingrays, turtles and octopi! We had a look at the emotion squares and used the mirrors to replicate the emotions using facial expressions, this allows us to identify the emotions easier!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been focusing on Literacy! We went down to the dining room to take part in activities around our Core Book - The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We learned more about the life cycle of a caterpillar, and used our cutting skills to snip out pictures of each stage. We then recognised how to glue them in the correct sequence!
We've also been inspired by the different food in the book, using playdough to create our favourite fruit and vegetables.
We developed our mathematics skills by learning about pattern and symmetry! We painted butterfly wings on folded paper, noticing how the colours we used matched on the other side perfectly.
We've also been mini-scientists this week, experimenting with milk, food colouring and washing up liquid!
