Nursery
This week it has been SNOWING! The children really enjoyed watching the snow fall from the Nursery window - but then we wrapped up warm to go out and investigate in the garden!
Tish and Chelsea encouraged us to explore the snow, which for some of us was a brand new texture and temperature. We discovered it was very cold - brrrr - and we even managed to make a small snowman too!
Back inside we have been role playing with our toy babies. We understand how to care for them by feeding them, changing them, putting them to sleep and putting them on the potty!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten was filled with lots of smiles and curiosity! When the snow started to fall, it was such a wholesome moment seeing the children's reactions to this exciting news.
The children wrapped themselves in coats and hats and headed straight outside to the garden! Some of the children even wrote letters in the snow with their fingers, developing their early handwriting skills!
Indoors in the warm, the children got stuck straight in with our messy tuff tray where they made it rain shredded paper. Also, it was lovely seeing the children playing with the beach tuff tray!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been flexing our fine motor skills with a hammering activity! With supervision and encouragement we used the hammers to tap-tap-tap the pieces into the soft cork. This took lots of concentration so we were really proud of our efforts!
We were so excited by the snow this week, we went out into the garden to explore. This was a great opportunity to expand our vocabulary and communication skills - we recognised that the snow felt 'cold' and 'wet', and we talked about where snow might come from!
Back inside in the sensory room we took part in some Cosmic Yoga. We did a great job of copying the poses, stretching and bending our limbs! We also took a mindful moment, quietly listening to our deep breathing.
