Nursery
The whole month of October we have been celebrating Halloween with lots of activities! This week we explored pumpkins, looking inside them to explore the textures and taking turns with our friends. We all repeated the word 'pumpkin'!
We also made pumpkin pictures using our hands! The adults painted our knuckles with orange paint, and encouraged us to press them onto the paper to see what would happen. It left a pumpkin shape, wow! We also added on the carved faces for a truly Halloween pumpkin.
We have also been exploring jelly! We used spoons and our hands to explore, the children even used their mouths too! We had lots of fun playing with our friends.
Lastly we been enjoying the spiral towel toy, putting the balls in at the top and watching how fast they move - wow!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been working on our Mathematics skills! We've been exploring puzzles, shape and colour sorting, and and using the magnetic tiles too. Our fascination with mathematics has extended outdoors too - from counting the pretty autumn leaves to the pots and pans in the mud kitchen!
We've all been very enthusiastic about outdoor messy play and mark making in the tuff tray, using paintbrushes to make swirly whirly masrks in the foam and creating works of art on the easel. We've also been taking part in games of hide and seek...coming...ready or not!
It wouldn't be a week in Kindergarten without lots of building, car racing, arts and craft - and helping to clear up all the mess at the end!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School saw the arrival of a new shop in our role play area! We took turns to play different roles, acting as both shopkeeper and customer and creating narratives together.
We've spent lots of time outdoors, where we created muddy handprints and took part in some water play! We also noticed lots of ladybirds flying around - we manage to carefully capture one to look at more closely, noticing how many spots they have.
We've also been exploring our new emotion tiles, making a game of picking up a tile and copying the expression they were showing!
We also took part in a coloured water experiment, using pipettes to squeeze the water onto the cotton wool, and watch as it changed colour.
