Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been busy in the construction area!
We worked with our peers to build really tall towers using
the foam bricks and tubes. We even played 'peekaoo' through
some of the blocks!
Outside we spent some time watering all the plants, we filled our
jugs with help from the adults and then poured the water all over
the plants making sure they all had enough. While doing this we
discovered a ladybird which Hannah held and showed us all, we
all did very well remembering our gentle hands!
In the art room we got really messy doing some car and hand
painting! We started by using the cars to make marks on the paper
and then discovered the feel of paint in our hands. We really liked
this sensory experience so then did hand painting to extend our
learning. Great job everyone, what a busy week!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we all had so much fun. Some of us learnt how to use scissors carefully and on the other hand, some learnt how to cut up bananas for snack time.
In the playhouse, the children went from selling ice cream to hot chocolates as we get ready for winter season. We also have a new favourite, the drawing pad, where the children have loved drawing their own unique imaginations!
Lots of us have also visited the sensory room where we made silly faces in the mirror and pointed to our physical characteristics. Some children ended their week off with building houses, train tracks, towers with the colourful shaped magnets.
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been so excited to explore our new Book Nook! We were so excited to get stuck in exploring our new books, and we also had a great discussion about how we can look after them so that all the Pre-School children can enjoy them!
There have also been some celebrations this week! We explored the Hindu festival of Navaratri and the Jewish festival Rosh Hashanah! We learned about the different ways families can celebrate festivals and made some beautiful creations too.
We were also fascinated by our light-up mini-beast boxes! We showed great patience and cooperation, taking turns with each one and passing them on to our friends so we could all have a look. We recognised the insects in each frame and said their names out loud!
