Nursery
This week in Nursery we have spent lots of time in the Art Studio, getting festive with some Christmas Crafts! We were invited to decorate our own cards, we used paintbrushes to dab the glittery paint all over the paper. Not only does using the small brush help develop fine motor skills, but being able to express ourselves through mark making boosts our confidence and independence!
We have also shown a particular interest in our toy vehicles this week. We looked closely at the cars, trucks and trains, turning the wheels around. The adults showed us that some of the toys we could pull backwards and let go, and they would go whizzing forward - wow! We also explored our wooden train track, trying hard to fit each piece together to create a long track.
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have had such a festive and exciting week as we inch closer to Christmas! To start, we decorated our very own baubles, using our fingerprints - we talked about hanging these up on our trees at home!
Next we wrapped up warm for a seasonal trip to our local park, where we enjoyed climbing frames and swing sets with our friends!
We have also explored some festive tuff trays - we really enjoyed the hot chocolate making workshop, where we put on marshmallows and whipped cream!
To round off a perfect week, we had a special visitor.... Santa Claus! He read us Christmas stories and brought us some early Christmas presents. We can't wait to see what next week has in store!
Pre-School
What a busy week we have had in Pre-School!
In the dining room we helped to make mince pies. We were given the responsibility of weighing out the ingredients, rolling the pastry and spooning in the mincemeat filling. We did a great job of following the recipes and were so excited to take home our festive treats!
There have been so many Christmassy activities to explore, from decorating paper Christmas trees, to wrapping presents, to making magical reindeer food!
Last month we collected lots of food for our local Food Bank, so this week some of took a trip to donate them. As we walked, we talked about what a Food Bank is and how it might help people. When we arrived, we helped place the donations up on the shelves so people could see them!
