This week in Flax Bourton, we have been working on our mathematics skills with shape sorter and puzzle! With the puzzle the adult help to guide us, showing where the pieces needed to be inserted. We were able to name each animal we could see - from cows, pigs and horses! We were able to independently move the shape shorter around, until we found the right hole for the stars and square. We were able to say "star"!
Some of us had the chance to go to the park with friends this week! We sat on roundabout togetherm going around with big smiles saying " wee"! The adults sat on the big net swing with us, we had fun going really high in the air.
Back in the nursery room we explored the farm animal tuff tray with hay, we were able to hide and feed the animals hay too!
Love has been in the air in art room to celebrate Valentine's Day, with a variety activities to explore. From pink and red love heart rice to mix and spoon up into bowls! To finish the week a big love heart to paint with red and pink paint. We were able to hold the paint brush and move it around to make a pretty picture!
This week in Kindergarten we made the most of our outdoor spaces and resources. On the decking we have been look at gravity and how we can use the drainpipes to move and transport our toys. We learnt that by laying them at a certain angle the toys will roll down them from one tray to the other! We mostly enjoyed racing the cars down the ramps and seeing who had the fastest one.
In the big garden we all enjoy playing a big game of hide and seek. We are encouraged to take turns to count and hide. The adults help us to count up to 10 whilst everyone else goes to hide. We then go on a big hunt to find everyone before they jump out and shout. Boo!
Utilising more of our outdoor spaces this week we have explored lots of different types of media such as sand, pasta and pulses. We have incorporated some of our toys to this media to make multi sensory play adventures. We used the large trucks and diggers to scoop, move and transport the sand up and down the ramps in our construction site. With the pasta and pulses we used spoons, pots and tea bags to
make some lotions and potions. We would mix all the ingredients together say the magic words and abracadabra a magic concoction was made!
Our knowledge of colours has developed this week as we worked together to create a colour line. We were able to chose a colour to decorate a paper plate and discussed which colour was our favourite and how the colours make us feel and what they can relate to. Yellow could be happy like the sun. Green calm like the grass. Pink could mean love like a heart. We followed the colour trail into the tuff tray where we then decorated some hearts using some of our favourite colours and sequins!
This week in Pre-School has been jam packed with love and fun!
We have been learning all about Valentine's Day this week and have made cards and pictures for the people we love. This has caused us to be extra brilliant with our mark making and fine motor skills!
The children have loved our new magnitiles, and have built amazing towers and castles with their imagination. The big blocks have also been a favourite this week, as we have been building even bigger castles and towers with them!
On the decking we've had very fun tuff trays from a zoo world
to bubbly colourful water! We have really enjoyed spending time in the sandpit digging holes, building mountains and even finding pirate treasure! The balance bikes of course have been very popular. The climbing frames and obstacle courses have been super fun with
friends, and the mud kitchen where we have had amazing feasts created.
To finish off the week with a blast, we enjoyed some yoga and dancing with friends. Well done Pre-School for another wonderful week, we hope you have a great weekend!
