This week in Nursery the babies have been looking at themselves in the wooden mirrors! They enjoyed recognising themselves in the mirrors and when the grown ups popped up in the reflection too. We added the spinner onto the mirror to see if they could still recognise themselves with distractions!
We also took a trip out into the big garden where we went into the Cosy Cabin and chose to bring the pompoms outside into the garden. We shook them to the beat, as we sang different nursery rhymes!
Also, we were lucky enough to have parents come in and join us for our Easter craft session! We enjoyed exploring the gloop with hidden eggs and carrots. We also got creative decorating eggs and making different shapes with the playdough!
This week in Kindergarten we have engaged in some water play. We have explored using funnels, measuring jugs and pipettes. We transported the water through pouring and emptying. We also used language such as full and empty!
We have also been painting with different tools. We set up a painting activity with potatoes, paintbrushes, sponges for the children to use and explore to make marks!
Some of the children have completed the shape puzzle this week fitting the pieces into the correct places independently and also working with their peers.
In the garden we have played a number recognising game. We used our physical strength to throw the balls at the numbers on the whiteboard.
We have also been doing lots of singing and dancing too with our friends!
This week Pre-School have been super creative. Easter is just round the corner so we have been involved in many Easter crafts. This has included painting, cutting, play dough and sticking! Building has been popular and this week we have taken a big interest in the marble run, where we have been building big and small courses. Of course we have been making super creations at the woodwork station, and have had the sandpit open and ready for business!
Outside in the garden has been super busy as the sun has been shining. Ice cream, sweets and hot chocolate shops have been dotted around the place whilst everyone else has been racing around their dens that they made. We have played hide and seek, dragons and pirates! Pre-School have been practicing their pedalling skills on the tricycles and have done a super amazing job! To top the week off, we had some of our lovely parents come in to do some Easter crafts and play. Happy Easter everyone, we hope you have a wonderful long weekend!
