This week in Nursery we have been learning about road safety, playing a 'stop and go' game in the big garden! The adults showed us the green and red rackets, and explained that red means 'stop' and green is 'go'! When the adults said 'ready steady GO' we ran across the garden, and knew to stop when the adults help up the right colour! Some of us even had a go at holding the racket, repeating the words 'stop' and 'go'.
Back in the room, we have been learning about the different types of people that help us! We chose different colours of paint and moved the brush across the paper as the adults talked to us about the fire service, police, and crossing guards!
Downstairs in the dining roo some of us have been practicing our mark making on the interactive screen! We were able to independently choose what colours we wanted and move our hands across the screen to make lines and dots.
Some of us have been exploring the shape sorters! We used our fine motor skills to push down the pegs. We also spent time cooking in the home corner with the coloured bowls and fruit.
We started this week in Kindergarten with a ROARRRRRRR! We had found our puppets and pretended to be the animal it was. It became very noisy in Kindergarten!
To celebrate World Transport Week, we did lots of driving; we drove the cars up and down the ramps, experimenting with fast and slow speeds.
We then moved on to making our very own porridge! We added water to our oats and watched the magic happen as we mixed it in. We had to blow on it all very carefully because porridge oats are usually very warm!
We then explored a lovely sensory garden tray that Jayla had set up. We had independently explored the soil and discovered all different shapes of potatoes. Some of us then picked up the rake and began to copy Tasha by gliding the rake through the mud! Some of us then found a big-sized potato and placed it in water tray to clean the soil off.
Whilst on our outdoor adventures we played outside in the snow! We watched the snow fall and would try and catch some in our mittens, the next day we found ice on our water wall. Some of us had explored the ice with Gemma, it was very colddd !
This week in Pre-School has been jam-packed with fun and learning!
We have started feeling festive, creating items such as Christmas cards and other decor! It’s also been Road Safety Awareness week so there’s been lots of fun activities in our tuff trays and outside in the garden, lots of new road signs and much more to look at and learn.
We have been practicing and getting familiar with writing and writing numbers this week. We have practiced on mini whiteboard pieces and stencils! It was World Kindness Day last week and the lovely Coombe Dingle had sent us a beautiful card, so we got together and FaceTimed them to say thank you!
Outside has been super magical. It started to snow! We put our hats, gloves, scarfs and coats on and went outside to catch the snowflakes! We went on a little adventure around the garden to find ice that Elsa dropped and we found some big pieces! Finally to end the week, we made crowns because we were feeling positive like kings and queens! Well done Pre-Schhool for a wonderful week, have a lovely weekend!
