This week in Flax Bourton in the home corner we been developing our health and self-care with dressing and feeding our dollies! Some of us were able to independently undress the dolly and use wet wipes to clean and place back on their nappy. We placed them into the chair and took it in turns to feed dolly with food. We were able to say “open mouth“ and "yummy“!
We have been making a splash in the Water World using a variety of containers and scoops to practice our pouring and emptying skills! We looked on, fascinated as the water poured out and made a big splash. In the tuff tray we did some painting, we held a brush or sponge dipped into paint and made pretty pictures and coloured stones!
On the roof top garden we stood in the big water tray stamping our feet to make a big splash, laughing at the big sound the water made! Down in the main garden we were practicing kicking footballs and looking at birds in the trees with the adults, and having fun exploring the mud kitchen liking the feel of mud on our hands .
This week in Kindergarten we explored the process of filling and emptying in the big garden! We incorporated numbers, shape and size into our play, and tested out whether it was easier to lift and move full, or empty buckets!
We have also been exploring different media such as pasta and water. We spoke about the texture of the pasta being 'bumpy', and how it varies in length - the spaghetti was long, and thin! We talked about using gentle hands to make sure they didn't break into pieces!
We have also been exploring bubbly warm water, popping the bubbles and cleaning the toys. We have also been engaging in social situations with our peers during snack times and talking about the foods we are eating and different textures!
This week in Pre-School have been super fun! Inside we have been doing lots of building by using different materials such as big blocks, little block and shapes! Puzzles have again been popular and this week we have completed a giant safari puzzle. Out in the sandpit the usual mountains, holes and towers have been created. This week we have been exploring the water play area and have loved making bubbly water, window cleaning with paintbrushes and using funnels!
Outside in the garden another town was created and we had toy shops, cafes and a sweet shop. The bikes have of course been popular and everyone’s been practicing peddling again which has progressed massively! The loose parts area was a great place to help build this town! To finish the lovely week we did some yoga and helicopter stories. Have a lovely weekend Pre-School!
