This week in Flax Bourton we been outside exploring all the many leaves that have now falling from the tree covering the garden! We have been running through, hearing the noise as we crunch down on each one . The adults been showing us how to pick up a big handful and throw them into the air saying words like "wow” and "yay” as the leaves float down. Some us have been using buckets to go around collecting leaves. Some of us been filling the different colour bottles with water from the tap with help from the adults!
Back in the nursery some us who can now crawl around have been very interested in the baby gym for the first time with help from the adults we were able to make our way to the slide and down . Some us been practicing our animals sounds saying "meow“ for cat!
To finish the week we explored coloured rice in the tuff tray to celebrate Diwali! We used our hands to pick up the rice and transfer to the paper plates . The adults asked what pretty colours we could see . We were able to say "green“ the adults said “Can you hear the noise the rice makes as it fall on the plate?"
This week in Kindergarten we have been extra busy getting into the spooky spirit! We have had lots of different spooky activities. We started by exploring the decking, where we filled the potion bottles and made the spookiest potion ever filled - shimmer and shine!
We had then moved on to turning apples into pumpkins. To make the magic happen we would dip the paintbrush into the paint and paint the apples orange to turn it into a mini pumpkin! Then, a bit later, we explored the extra-spooky swamp where there were lots of different insects hidden in the damp sand. We used the spades to try and find them as they where deep in the swamp!
We also decorated our very own tea light candle holders to celebrate Diwali. We had first started by rolling our clay into a ball and then pushing our fingers into the centre to create a hole for the candle to go in. We had then very carefully chosen sequins to put on the outside; we would use our fingers to push them in as deep as they could go so they could stick well. Jayla had then said that we need to leave them for 24 hours so they can dry, and then we could put a very special tea light candle in the centre!
This week in Pre-School has been a blast!
Inside we have been learning all about Diwali. In celebration of this we have been crafty and made tea tights with clay, explored colourful rice and other sensory items and even had a look at henna! We have been very into the home corner this week also, making pies and puddings for our babies that we have in our room. Mark making has again been a favourite inside and the stencils have been very popular!
We have been very lucky with the weather outside this week, even though it’s been cold it’s been fun. All the leaves are starting to fall, of the trees now and the garden floor was covered! We all decided to create a giant leaf mountain and jump in it! The balance bikes of course has been a must have in the garden this week as well as the obstacle courses and climbing frames. Well done Pre-School for a wonderful week, have a lovely weekend everyone!
