This week in Flax Bourton we took a muddy trip to the park! There was so much to look at, we were fascinated with watching the dogs running around on the grass and we also noticed the trees blowing in the wind! The park is also a great place for us to practice our walking skills.
We've also been spending time in the construction area, building with the wooden bricks and stacking toys! We carefully built them up one brick at a time, the adults said "wow - great tower!" and we clapped ourselves when we had finished!
We also celebrated Lunar New Year this week, by singing songs and exploring a brightly coloured rice tray! We used lollipop sticks to make marks in the rice.
We've also been spending lots of time outside, running around and climbing on all the different equipment available. We had lots of big smiles for our friends and adults in the sunshine!
Vroom vroom! This week in Kindergarten we had the busiest small world zone in the world; filled with lots of different vehicles. This is where we drove the cars over and under the bridges, and took some of them to the car wash for a great big scrub so they were all nice and clean.
Some of us have been getting super creative in the messy play activity on the decking. The tray started very empty , but with some big and small hand movements in the tray we created a big piece of painted art. There were purple, pink, blue, orange and green! We all worked as a team and mixed them together and covered the tray.
In Kindergarten, we went on a big adventure. We had gone on a trip to the library! We first started by very carefully walking to the bus stop, where we had spotted lots of different vehicles, like trucks, and we had even heard a train. Our bus had finally come, and it was a bit of a bumpy ride full of giggles. Then we had eventually arrived at our stop, and off we walked to the library, where we all had some snacks and listened to a storybook. Then off we had travelled back to the nursery to continue our day of fun.
Some of us stayed at Red Bus, where we had been learning all about Lunar New Year! We joined in our activity around the table where we made a paper dragon dance using sticks and bells.We also listened to some Chinese music including a song about the animal of this year; a snake. We all then looked at some foods and even tasted them. We tried the fortune cookie and also tried using chopsticks to pick up the noodles!
This week in Pre-School we finished our magical dragon! We celebrated Lunar New Year in style, watching videos of 'Dragon Dances' and trying to copy the moves.
We've also been testing our letter awareness with an alphabet game! We were given a word, and were challenged to find the right letter tiles to spell it out. We did a great job of this and were so proud of ourselves for getting it right!
We've also wrapped up warm to spend lots of time outside, from navigating the balance rope to exploring the music area!
