This week in Flax Bourton, we been celebrating Halloween with lots different activities over the week! First was washing the pumpkins in the bubbly water, we held the cloths and rubbed the pumpkin clean. The adults mixed up the water and made lots of bubbles,
which we thought was such fun banging our hands together watching the bubbles go through the air.
We been having lots fun exploring the garden this week in the sunshine. We spent time mixing in the mud kitchen, rolling the balls down the tubes and filling up the coloured bottles with water for the first time - it took time moving the bottles into the
right place but we got there in the end! We then took the filled bottles over to water the plants.
In the art area we painted some paper plates orange and stuck on eyes to make pumpkins! We were able to say words like "orange" and "pumpkin.
To finish the week we came in dressed up for Halloween! In the tuff tray was gloop with pumpkin seeds mixed in. The adults encouraged us to use our hands to explore. Some of us used a spoon or our hands to touch the inside of the pumpkin too!
The adults read a story called "Going on a Ghost Hunt" - we lifted the flaps to reveal each ghost counting as we read.
Well done nursery what a great week!
This week in Kindergarten we started by making some extra spooky sweet treats. We made rice crispy cakes with bright red strawberry sauce! We had started by very carefully choosing a cupcake case and then adding our rice crispies to the bowl alongside some chocolate. Then we gave it a big stir to mix it all together. Once we had scooped the mixture into our cupcake cases, we then added our extra spooky sauce as a topping.
Our extra spooky week continued with decorating our own pumpkins. We used the glue to stick our pompoms onto the pumpkin, and then we added some googly eyes to make them extra spooky!
We carved our own pumpkins with Holli, we were very careful using the the carving knife (with adult support) and a spoon to create our own special patterns in the pumpkins.
To end the week we explored the haunted pumpkin patch where there was a bowl of spaghetti brains with massive slippy chunks of jelly - eek! We then had a magical dino kingdom which had been invaded by monster pumpkins covering their goo all over the land - oh no!
This week in Pre-School has been so eventful!
Inside we've been making so many different things. We have made fat balls for the birds to munch on, witches hats from ice cream cones and icing and decorating pumpkins! We have also carved real pumpkins which we have been displayed outside our Pre-School door.
Inside we have been showing off our dance moves by having parties! We've had super fun Halloween inspired tuff trays this week, we've made so many potions for the witches.
Outside in the garden we've been playing lots of group game such as "what's the time Mr. Wolf?" And tag. Bug hunting again has been a favourite this week, which we have discovered lots of new coloured lady birds!
To top the week off we all dressed up for Halloween and did lots of different Halloween activities! Well done Pre-School you all looked super cool! Have a lovely weekend!
