This week at nursery we started the week by mixing some gloop in the tuff tray! The adults poured in some cornflour mixed with water and encouraged us to use our hands to mix some more. We decided we wanted to make the gloop pink! We used lolly pop sticks to do some mark-making in the gloop too.
In the big garden some of us have been learning to push our feet down on the pedals to make the trike move around! The adults have been showing us how to use the tennis racket to hit the balls along the floor.
In the tuff tray this week there was a a sensory farm with animals and rice, we moved the animals around liking the noise the rice made as the animals stomped across. We used our fine motor skills to pick up the rice and sprinkle back down into the table
smiling and laughing while we played. We also explored some mark making on different coloured paper moving the pencil crayon side to side around to make lines!
This week in Kindergarten we have decorated lots of cupcakes! We looked at the different coloured icing and chose from a variety of different colours. Holli then supported us to squeeze the tube super hard so the icing would come out onto the
cake. We made lots of beautiful cakes!
We also explored the duck and frog pond. We placed the frogs on the lily pads and watched them float in the water. We then placed some of the frogs and ducks on the drain pipe and watched them slide down into the pond!
We then introduced our new core book 'Shark in the Park'. We sat and listened to the repetition of the story while looking at the pictures and thinking about what Timothy would find next at the park. Some of us then spent time on the decking where we explored our tuff tray which was a beach and the sea! We looked at the different animals swimming in the sea (foam dyed blue) and got messy feeling it between our fingers! We also scrunched the sand (cereal)! What a busy week in Kindergarten!
This week in Pre-School... has been action packed with fun!
Inside we have been mark making with paint, creating our very own fireworks and a stick man! Stick Man is our current core book so there's lots of activities based on that at the moment. We have brought sticks in from the woods from our trip not too long ago and the garden to create our very own stick man. And of course with googly eyes!
We have been painting and creating with different materials such as cereal boxes and milk cartons. Dressing up has been popular this week, dresses jackets and fancy shoes has been super fun to try on and make our role-playing games much more fun!
Sensory toys have been made this week by putting different materials in tall bottles such as oil and coloured water, sticks, rice and pasta!
It was bonfire night this week so we have made our very own fireworks with a loo roll and paint! Out on the decking we have had a blast! We introduced hopscotch to the children and drew it in chalk for the children to use. In the tuff tray we have had lots of water activities. A favourite this week has been the ducks! We had lots of different ducks in the water and nets for us to catch them.
Out in the garden we have been bug hunting and bird watching too. We had our clipboard with the different birds we could find and set out on our adventure in the garden. To end the week with a fun ending, we made chocolate sticks and did the coke and mentos challenge. Well done Pre-School for a brilliant week, we all hope you have a lovely weekend!
