This week in Flax Bourton, we have been very busy exploring our Sand Land, with all the different resources provided. Some of us took a trip to the outdoor sandpit for the first time! We got very excited, crawled in and started to explore the texture of the sand. The adults showed us how to fill up the bucket to make lots of sandcastles and sculptures. We then had a great time knocking them back down again!
We have also been wrapping up warm and spending lots of time in the big garden running around and learning to pedal along on the trikes. To warm ourselves up afterwards we took a trip into the Cosy Cabin for some delicious snack and stories together. We then had some fun mark making on paper!
To finish the week we explored a sensory game on the interactive screen, when we touched the screen lots of different coloured dots and sounds appeared! We used the screen as a whiteboard too and had lots of fun working together to make pictures!
This week in Kindergarten we have explored our Core Book for the term called "The Little Red Hen. We read the story during group time, and then we explored an invitation to play where we could use the binoculars to find the fox, and we could also help the chickens make their breakfast and fed them lots of bread!
To continue a busy week back, we then gave our toy babies in Kindergarten a great big bath! We used the sponges to give them all a nice big bubbly scrub in the extra bubbly tub!
On Tuesday we went on a trip down to the fields to search for some birds as it is RSBP's Big Garden Birdwatch this momth. When we got there, we sat down and had some carrots, cucumber, and
some water. We then got a sheet out of all the different types of birds and began searching. We looked up in the trees and the sky, spotting lots of different things. We spotted the moon, birds, and we even got to see a rainbow! When we got back, Tash had created a wonderful tray where we could use the magnifying glasses to spot the mini birds.
We then spent some time on the decking exploring Water World. We used the funnels and the jugs to transfer the colourful water around the decking, and we also worked very hard to pump the water through the wall too! What a busy week!
This week in Pre-School we welcome everyone back with a Happy New Year! We have loved talking about what we did over Christmas - and of course talking about what presents we received.
This week we have been drawn to the art table and have had so many different activities to do, such as mixing colours and creating things with our recycling equipment!
Building and puzzles have been very popular this week, we have been
working as a team to finish giant animal puzzles and building enormous towers.
Our new Core Book is Jack and the Beanstalk, so there have been some wonderful themed tuff trays - we have even dressed up when reading the book!
It's coming up to the Big Garden Birdwatch this month, so we took a lovely walk down to the park with our clipboards and ticked off the birds that we found. Of course we had to take a 10 minute break in the park too! Well done for a wonderful week - it's lovely to
have you all back!
