This week in nursery we started the week by excitedly going on a Bear Hunt around the rooftop garden. We stepped through the muddy water with wellies on - or bare feet, to feel the different textures! The adults sang "We're Going on a Bear Hunt", and when the adults said the bear was coming we hid in the cave saying words like "Oh no!" and "Bear"!
Later in the week we bought all the different animals - lions, cats, rhino, zebras, lions and dogs out into the back room and placed them all over the table to show the adults. When asked we were able to repeat words like "Hyno" for rhinoceros and "woof woof" for the dog!
To finish the week we went out to run around in the big garden in the sunshine! We spent time riding on the trikes and scuttle bugs around the bike track , spinning the hula hoops and playing with the footballs. When we went into the cabin for snack we found a ladybird crawling on the wall! The adult held it and we were fascinated watching it crawling around.
This week in Kindergarten we had explored lots of different areas!
We started by going into the courtyard, where everyone had put their building skills to the test, carefully stacking each block one on top of another to make the tallest tower. Team work makes the dream work!
We had then moved on to exploring the foam mark-making tuff tray. We had used the paintbrush to create the most beautiful picture in the tray by moving the pink and white foam around the tray. To continue the adventure this week in kindergarten we had explored the build your own rocket tuff tray to celebrate Space Week & the galaxy around us. We would use the glue to make the rockets sticky after choosing our desired colour then we would very carefully add each star.
We then moved on to exploring the magical flower water full of colour! We would use the jugs to scoop up as many flowers as possible: this is where we had spoken about all of the different colours we could see on the petals.
We also let our imagination run wild this week pretending to be lots of different vehicles! We used some of the resources around us to drive around in one of the worlds fastest cars, others became pilots and flew all around the world. We have taken one of the greatest trips across the Arctic Ocean, and this is where we
had found lots of different animals in the snow and the very bouncy ice ocean, we had found lots of different animals like polar bears in the snow, we had walked them along the snow to create the most magical paw prints. We had them moved on to helping one of the dolphins travel across the great big ocean!
This week in Pre-School we have been really busy! Outside on the decking this week, we have been planting our winter vegetables and herbs in our vegetable patch. We planted kale, lavender, rosemary and a curry plant. Which all smelled amazing and we enjoyed having a sniff of them!
We have also been making our own Elmer the Elephant from milk cartons! We have been adding their own creations onto them and then checking for how well they have done.
This week inside and outside we have really been into our building blocks. We built a climbing wall using the netting outside in the garden. Inside they have been using the lego to build different types of buildings. They have also enjoyed playing with the new
diggers and using them to transport sand to the different diggers.
They have also been dressing up as builders. The children have been using their imagination this week with sticks. The children have been decorating their sticks with ribbon to turn their stick into a magic wand. Once they have created their magic wand, they then were turning people in to different things such as rabbits, frogs, dinosaurs and many many more things!
